| College of the Redwoods - HRC18 anyone? |

I am returning to CR after leaving in 2007 and I am going to be working on a major in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management. I was wondering if anybody out there has taken HRC18: Internship - Hospitality... I have never done an internship program before and I am hoping to find any information I can. Does anybody know how their job placement works? Are they paid internships? etc. Any information on the course would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to talk to an advisor and the instructor next week hopefully but it would be nice to gather information from an outside source. Thanks! |

| Lost cat |

I hope this is allowed....I already checked Craigslist and called the animal shelters, but if anyone could help me that would be amazing. We've been missing our cat Scooter since Monday. We've checked the surrounding neighborhood and our old redwood barn in our backyard but she's nowhere to be found. Unfortunately I don't have a picture to load to show what she looks like, but she's a black and white tuxedo, with a white mustache and stripe going all the way down her stomach, with all white feet. There's a small black spot on one of her toes on her right front paw. She's kind of skittish around strangers. She's young, only 3 and a half years old.
If anyone sees a cat that looks like her, my number is 445-3733. She's missing from Eureka, so I don't expect to see her in Arcata unless someone catnapped her and took her somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Did anyone else see a burning light float over Eureka Saturday night some time after 9:00 PM? It was about the size of a very bright star from my perspective (our house is near the Muni), only it was the color of candlelight and every now and then it would drop a shower of bright sparks and grow dimmer for a moment. It was floating generally southward and I have no idea what it was. It could have been hot air balloon or something. I don't know. My wife saw it too. |

Hey Humboldt! How did you weather the storm, and by storm I mean earthquake and aftermath?
How did your places of employment fare?
My boyfriend is the tech department for the RCAA. Most of their servers were down; he went in today to push buttons and reset things. No further data until tomorrow.
A friend works at the Eureka Co-op. She took these pictures when she came into work the following day.

The Marquee just reads, "Closed," no mention of whether its a temporary or permanent status. |
